New combination case profile with cooling fins and groove for transistor retaining spring

Whether in power electronics, the automotive industry or in telecommunications technology - applications that require secure mounting of transistors and their efficient heat dissipation require cases with a special design that holds the transistors firmly in place and ensures optimum heat dissipation at the same time.

For this purpose, Fischer Elektronik has expanded its product portfolio of combination cases with an additional case profile. The KO H combination case series from Fischer Elektronik consists of two extruded aluminium profiles that are combined with each other using a tongue-and-groove system and sealed with 2 mm thick cover panels.

The new KO FR 1 profile has lateral, internal contours that can be used to attach different types of transistor cases types by means of universal stainless steel snap-in transistor retaining springs, making assembly quick, easy and reliable.

The external cooling fins on the sides of the profile serve to effective dissipation of the heat from the transistors to the environment and thus reducing the operating temperature of the devices. This is particularly important as excessively high device temperatures impair the performance and service life of the transistors.

Internal 1.8 mm wide guide grooves integrated into the profile enable the insertion of PCBs with a width of 94 and 100 mm, whereby smaller PCBs can also be accommodated with the aid of special press-fit elements. The cases are available as standard in six lengths (100, 120, 160, 200, 220, 234 mm) and in four different surface finishes. In addition to the standard designs, the combination cases can be machined, surface-treated and printed according to customer specifications.

This profile has been specially developed for applications where high heat dissipation and secure mounting of transistors are required.
